My 10 Year Reunion

Filed Under (Random Thoughts) by myjaxon on 09-05-2008

So I’m conflicted.  I just found out the information for my 10 year reunion and now I’m trying to decide if I really want to go.  Honestly, there’s not a lot of people there that I need or want to see.  There’s only about a handful of people I care about seeing and I don’t even know if they are going to be there.  So the question is, is it worth spending $50 to go to my reunion and do something that I normally wouldn’t do?  For some reason, our class president decided to have our reunion at a comedy club where there will be a comedian and everything.  Why he decided to have it there is a mystery to me.  I mean, it’s been 10 years since our class has gotten together, where friends have seen each other, and instead of setting up a social gathering where people can talk, he sets up a comedy show.  It makes no sense to me, but I’m not the class president.  I would have been happy with a day at the park.  Something where people could come and go and bring their kids if they want to and it would have cost a lot less.  Or, hell, have it at the brand spanking new high school so we could actually see it.  I’ve been curious to see the inside and this isn’t going to give me a chance.  $50 for my reunion is kind of steep for me - the reunion is occurring right around the same time when we’ll (hopefully) close on our house.  And our house is definitely more important than the reunion.  I need to RSVP by the 1st of June, so I don’t have to make the decision tonight, but I do have to make it soon.

I’m conflicted….do I go to the reunion or don’t I?
