If we don’t go crazy once in a while, we’ll all go crazy. - Hawkeye

Okay, you can make fun of me all you want, but what can I say. I was 13 and the New Kids on the Block were good…then. Now I’m not so sure.  I keep hearing all about their comeback tour and I have to ask, why?  Granted, they were young back in the early 90s, but they really aren’t boy bandish anymore.  They’re grown men. Yes they were the first true boy band (I don’t count the Beatles as a boy band, but I would give you the Monkees), and they did have a following, but will they today?

I did manage to find a couple of their new videos on youtube and they don’t sound too bad.  Single and Summertime came out this summer (I suppose), but I can’t remember if I’ve heard them on the radio or not.  I know I keep hearing about their tour, but what about the music.  Are a bunch of 30-40 year olds going to be dancing to Step by Step, Hangin Tough or You Got the Right Stuff?  Probably, after all it is how they got started, but again…will the younger crowd fall for them like we did when we were young?  Will the original fans fall back to them?

Either way, I have a weakness for boy bands much to Jesse’s disgust, but what can I say.  I’m curious to see how they are going to do with this new tour.  I was a fan back in the day.  I know Joe had a music career for awhile, but what the rest of them have been doing is anybody’s guess.
